TUAT COVID-19 Response Headquarter

TUAT Measures for the Time Being in Response to COVID-19

?

The “State of Emergency in Response to the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)” was lifted nationwide, and the number of newly infected cases in Japan has been declining lately. While keeping a close watch on the next peak of COVID-19, so-called the 6th wave, we would like to enhance opportunities for interaction and communication gradually ― among student themselves and among students and faculty/administrative staff members, which were insufficient during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, based on the national/local governments’ policies in relation to COVID-19, we have prepared TUAT policies, “Handling of University Activities in the Post-COVID-19 Era”, on university activities which will take place between Monday, November 1, 2021 and Sunday, January 16, 2022.
We ask all students to continue to take thorough infection prevention measures by paying attention to the following points, and to “protect yourself from infection and prevent infection transmission to others”.

  • In general, lectures will be conducted face to face after thorough infection prevention measures are taken. However, please follow the policies of the Faculty/Graduate School you belong to.
  • Laboratory activities can be carried out after thorough infection prevention measures are taken. However, please ensure to follow the policies of the Faculty/Graduate School you belong to.
  • If there are students who wish to avoid commuting to university, etc. due to concerns on infection transmission, we will take account of their situation if possible. Please contact the education/student life committee or your supervisor/advising professor immediately.
  • At each campus, infection prevention measures are taken and we are working to create a safe environment for study and research, where the students and researchers can pursue their study and research without much concern about the infection transmission, etc. Please cooperate in wearing non-woven masks, cleaning your hands and disinfecting your desks with alcohol, etc.
  • If you feel unwell, please refrain from attending university or going outside the house/residence, and consult a doctor first.
  • Keep social distancing and refrain from talking without a mask in various situations such as attending lectures, travelling around the campuses, having lunch and waiting for your next lecture.
  • As we will be frequently posting up-to-date information on how the lectures or university events, etc. will be held at TUAT, please check the Google Classroom, Web Bulletin Board for students and TUAT website, etc.
  • If you have access to the following: vaccination offered by the local government of your residential area or large-scale vaccination offered by the national government, please get vaccinated as soon as possible.
  • About extra-curricular activities, please refer to “緊急事態宣言の解除に伴うサークル活動について” (Extra-curricular activities in relation to the state of emergency being lifted) dated September 28, 2021.
  • Please take great care and attention not to contract the virus from off-campus activities (including part-time jobs and volunteer activities).
  • Refrain from social gatherings (new year’s parties, etc.) on campus.
  • When gathering to eat or drink with others, make an appropriate decision by yourself based on the policies, etc. of the national or local government — regardless of whether the participants belong to TUAT or not; whether the venue is in a restaurant or in someone’s private house/residence, etc.
  • When going on a domestic business trip, give adequate thought to the situation of the destination as well before proceeding with the trip.
  • In general, students’ overseas business trips, etc. will not be approved. However, there are some cases that overseas trips may be permitted; for example, if the trip is deemed to be required as part of an outbound study abroad program based on an inter-university cooperation agreement, etc. Please consult the Student Support Office, etc. of the Faculty or Graduate School you belong to well in advance of planning the trip.
  • If you are confirmed with COVID-19, taken a PCR test or identified as a Close Contact to a COVID-19 positive individual, immediately report it to the University.
  • Please act according to the information or guidelines provided by the national/local governments.
  • We will make a new announcement if there is any change to the current COVID-19 status such as the state of emergency being re-declared.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Student Support Office, etc. of the Faculty or Graduate School you belong to.
